Sweat Lodge Ceremony
Traditional Temazcal
Service Description
Sweat Lodge is a beautiful space for us to share, give thanks, pray and sing for our own healing, for our relationships, growth and strength. We couldn’t do this work without the support of all our ancestors and relations. Connecting with mother earth and father sky, Great Spirit and Mother Life, we create together the perfect setting within, to connect in direct experience with the True Self. This ceremony is part of a compendium of rituals and sacraments that are part of the ancestry and heritage of the North American tribes, from Canada to Guatemala, this purification is part of the teachings of the grandparents and grandmothers who have cared for and protected this “womb” through generations, for it’s physical, spiritual and community benefits. Grandparents say that this ceremony came to our ancestors thanks to the Spirit of the White Buffalo Calf Woman, she brought to the tribes a bundle containing seven medicines that, to this day, are part of the legacy of the Native American tribes and have been expanded to all humanity by the great power and healing that they bring to the human family. - - - In this tradition, women must dress according to the codes of this ceremony: a cotton dress (or fabric as natural as possible) that covers the knees and shoulders. Men attend with shorts. The ceremony lasts around 5-6 hours, the first two hours are to heat the rocks, while the rocks are reaching their temperature, other preparations are continued such as: creating the altar, cleaning the ceremony space, covering the structure Inipi with blankets, this whole process is done with those participants who are present, before entering the temazcal we will share some words of guidance and information about the ceremony, it is important that all participants are present for this circle since there are tools and considerations that are necessary to navigate in the space and the honor medicine, that is why we ask you to arrive in that space of time, when everything necessary is being prepared, and not later. Especially in the full and new moons we hold a special intention, so these ceremonies will be held on a regular basis monthly. Thank you to all the tribes that have been keeping this tradition alive and thanks to all the hearts that are willing to create a nurturing space for all our future generations. For all our relations Aho Mitakuye Oyasin!!
